ABOUT US

Emran Rouf, MD, MBA, FACP

I am the founder and CEO of CareerWiseMD, a virtual coaching and mentoring service for healthcare professionals. I grew up in Bangladesh and completed my medical school training there before I immigrated to the U.S. and started working here as a licensed physician. I have had my share of difficult transitions, uncertainty about my career, and above all, not understanding how to manage the business side of medicine.

I am a board-certified internist and have had diverse career experiences over the last two decades, as a practicing physician and a physician executive, in academic, community hospitals, and corporate managed care world.

My mission is to help physicians and healthcare professionals manage their career transitions.

Although I was superficially familiar with work in utilization management and review, I did not have the in-depth knowledge of the business. Coming to the interview after being schooled in the inner workings of managed care by Dr. Rouf allowed me to ask more meaningful questions and ultimately get the position as a medical director.”
